“Primitive reflex integration has changed my life, and BRMT is by far my favorite program.”

— Britney, Massage Therapist and Body Worker

“BRMT has been a game changer at our clinic, and Riley is a phenomenal therapist. I can't recommend her enough.”

— Maggie H., Pediatric OTR/L

A 29-year-old male came to see me to address life-long pain in the back of his legs and lower back. The pain was intense and bothered him every day. His dad had accused him of not being man enough to "tough it out playing sports" and "trying to get out of playing sports". Upon evaluation and observation, I note active fear paralysis, TLR backward, and STNR. I treated those reflexes using isometrics and gave him BRMT exercises to do at home. By his second visit he had no more pain. He was surprised, and said he was getting steadily better though the first 3 weeks. After the 4th visit he began to either cancel or not show up to his appointments, so I called him to inquire as to why. He told me, "well, I'm not in pain anymore, so I don't feel I need to come". To which I replied, "you could have just said that!" YAY for BRMT.

I recently worked with a 42-year-old man with chronic body pain and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. He has had pain and tension in his back and legs since he was a child, which caused him difficulty performing in sports. Fear Paralysis was noteworthy in him, and he mentioned dealing with chronic anxiety. I'm smiling as I write this because I told him right away - you do NOT have fibromyalgia, you have unintegrated and undeveloped primitive reflexes. I saw him for four sessions. I treated fear paralysis, Babinski, TLR, and Landau with BRMT isometrics and rhythmic movements. I taught him all BRMT items (not in one session!) to perform at home, 10-12 minutes per day. He was 100% compliant with his home exercise program from the start. After one session he reported that his pain was more than 50% relieved, and after participating in PT for four total sessions he canceled his next appt, saying he is "just not in pain anymore". Miracles never cease!

A 20-year-old college student came to me with debilitating knee pain which caused him not to be able to play basketball nor stand at work. He had seen another PT who used traditional treatment on him 2 years prior with no lasting resolve. He was a premie who was in neonatal ICU for 5 and 1/2 weeks. He nursed for 3-4 months but then bottle fed because his mother's milk never fully came in. He did not crawl and instead scooted on his butt. He did not walk independently till 18 months old. Several of his reflexes were not fully developed, including Landau, TLR, STNR, and Babkinski, and others were not integrated. His gait appeared sloppy and unstable, with obvious hip and shoulder girdle instability. He attended PT for BRMT only on his college breaks, so treatment time with me was limited. We did isometrics, passive movements, and eventually active movements with core strengthening. He was very compliant with his HEP - his active BRMT movements were initially uncoordinated but eventually became very precise, and his reflexes began to develop and integrate. His knee pain resolved, and now he can play basketball and stand at work with only occasional, minimal pain. I told him if he kept on doing his BRMT movements he would resolve the remaining pain. This is a miracle story for BRMT.
